Pre-Arrival Messaging & Screening
- We ask that all student-athletes, families, coaches and staff stay vigilant in self-monitoring for
any symptoms of COVID-19. Headfirst will continue to communicate to all parties regarding the
importance of not coming to camp if experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
Arrival/Player Drop-off
- When you arrive, we will encourage only student-athletes walk up to the check-in area.
- We will have staff posted in the drop-off area to greet and direct each student-athlete to our
contact-free check-in process and parents to our meeting area.
- Temperature checking for student-athletes, coaches and staff will not occur in 2023. If a
student-athlete, coach or staff member is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms they should not
attend/work at camp without a negative COVID test. Headfirst will continue to offer generous
refunds and staff leave policies for individuals with documented COVID-19 in order to reduce
the possibility of COVID-19 at camp.
2023 COVID-19 Credit and Refund Policies:
- If any policies on COVID-19 testing and vaccination become required for student-athletes
following your registration, a full refund (including the $37.50/session administrative fee) will be
offered.
Camp Procedures
- Masks (subject to change based on facility and jurisdictional requirements and based on CDC
guidance and/or COVID levels within the community):
- Optional for student-athletes, families, coaches and staff outside and inside
- Sanitization:
- Proper PPE, will be on site for staff, player and spectator use as requested.
- We recommend that players and staff frequently wash their hands with soap and water
or use hand sanitizer provided by Headfirst.
- We encourage players to pack enough water for the day if uncomfortable with the use of water
coolers that will be provided in each dugout.
- Players are very much encouraged to have conversations with coaches at the event – we ask
that during conversations, players and coaches remain cognizant of social distancing whenever possible.
Vaccine Requirements
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 is encouraged for student-athletes, coaches and staff, but not
required by Headfirst. This policy is subject to change if facility partners or jurisdictions have
more strict vaccination policies.
Eligibility to Attend Camp After Positive COVID Test
- If an attendee (student-athlete, college coach, or staff member) has recently tested positive for
COVID-19 leading up to camp, they are eligible to attend once:
- They isolate for at least 5 full days (positive test result = day zero) and
- At the end of the 5-day isolation period:
- They are fever-free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medication and other symptoms are improving and
- They continue to wear a mask at all time when around others on-site through Day 10
- If an attendee continues to have a fever and symptoms have not improved after 5 days, please
contact Headfirst to discuss next steps.
Cases On-Site
- If a student-athlete begins to manifest or identify symptoms of a potential COVID-19 infection
while at our event, we will contact their parent/guardian immediately; if, in the judgment of our
on-site trainer, the student-athlete is exhibiting serious symptoms necessitating further
emergency action, we will proactively seek additional medical assistance in addition to
contacting the designated parent/guardian
- We will keep any attendee (student-athlete, college coach, or staff member) suspected of
COVID-19 infection isolated in a designated area and attended to by a limited number of trained
staff while they await pick up to head off-site; if necessary, we will provide a mask for any
potentially-infectious person who does not have their own
Parent-Specific
- We ask that parents maintain good social distance while viewing camp programming.
