BRANNAM EXCELLING AT CASE WESTERN – AUTUMN HEADED TO GEORGETOWN IN 2019
The spring months are some of our favorites here at Headfirst Honor Roll Camps Headquarters. Our June events in Southern California are just a few short months away and college softball is back in full swing. From our D.C. office, we stream countless games and follow the progress of our alumni playing at the next level – all while receiving the news of new alumni commitments on a daily basis.
This week in our alumni spotlight we are excited to highlight the success of a former Honor Roll Camper who is taking the UAA by storm in her first season of college softball, as well as share the news of an alumna’s recent commitment to Georgetown.
We hope you are as excited to hear their stories as we are to share them!
Sidney Brannam – Case Western Spartans
Position: RHP
Honor Roll Camp Attended: Mid-Atlantic 2016
Bio: A former two-sport athlete (Softball & Volleyball) and three-time Softball captain from Austin, Texas, Sidney is off to a torrid start in her first season playing for the Spartans. Through 35 games, the righty has tossed 96.1 innings and holds an ERA of 2.03. Her 13 wins lead the Spartan staff.
The Spartan duo of Brannam and fellow Honor Roll alumna Ilissa Hamilton has combined for five 2018 UAA Pitcher of the Week honors and 25 of the Spartans’ 27 wins to date.
Off the field, Brannam is a biochemistry major and an unabashed lover of all animals – including her own 5 dogs and turtle.
Sidney hopes to attend dental school following the conclusion of her undergraduate career. In fact, she considered this goal in her original college decision as the Case School of Dental Medicine is one of the strongest in the country.
Autumn Congdon – Georgetown Hoyas
Position: IF/OF
Honor Roll Camps Attended: Mid-Atlantic 2015, Mid-Atlantic 2016, Northeast 2016, Northeast 2017 & Southeast 2017
Bio: Complimenting her numerous accolades on the softball field (All-Conference, All-District, All-Area & All-State), Autumn is also an accomplished musician – playing both the baritone and alto saxophones, as well as the piano.
In addition to her versatility and strong right-handed swing, Autumn attracted attention at Headfirst Honor Roll Camp through her infectious personality and positive attitude. The National Honor Society member’s favorite quote is fittingly “People like people who like people” – a mantra Autumn embodies every time she steps on the field.
She will join Coach Conlan’s Hoyas in the fall of 2019 and hopes to secure her beloved number #39 jersey, which she originally selected because it is the atomic weight of Potassium.
