Due to the ongoing – and extended – NCAA Division 1 recruiting dead period, Division 1 programs are unable to conduct face-to-face recruiting, and haven’t been able to since mid-March. While Division 3 programs aren’t bound by the same NCAA dead period, college and league-specific guidelines precluding off-campus or out-of-state travel means that many of them have been unable to attend recruiting events this summer or fall. So what does this mean for all Division 1 and much of Division 3 high-academic recruiting? It means digital access and exposure.
The bad news about the ongoing dead period and travel restrictions is obvious for coaches and potential recruits: it’s impossible to get in-person exposure to these programs for the time-being, and it can be very difficult to get the right kind of verified video that college coaches need to evaluate you. But, the other side to this is that these obstacles are in place for all student-athletes, as well as all of your target Division 1 programs. For coaches who are unable to recruit off-campus or host prospective student-athletes on-campus, recruiting efforts this summer and fall have centered around verified video and data. While in-person exposure is what student-athletes and college coaches generally prefer and seek out in the recruiting process, while that’s not an option video, data and metrics give coaches the best available insight into the recruitability of prospective student-athletes.
The video and data that we collect during the Showcase PLUS programming is based on feedback and input from our partner college coaches about what they need to see from student-athletes to make recruiting decisions, to make sure that the information that we pass along to them after camp can help advance the recruiting process for student-athletes and coaches.
That’s what direct digital access means – after each Showcase PLUS program, all of the at-camp video, data, metrics and analytics on all student-athletes is delivered directly to our database of 200+ college coaches so that they’re able to use it in their recruiting.
At Headfirst Honor Roll, we’ll be collecting video of each player’s defensive showcase and ALL live game play. This entire package of video will be tagged to each player and then put into a searchable and sortable database for college coaches’ easy access. Our database of 200+ college coaches will have direct access to this entire database of footage, allowing them to quickly and easily find and review your video without having to skim through hours of untagged, unorganized footage.
All defensive showcase and game play video will also be available for purchase directly through our video partner NextPro so that you can send it out to additional college programs on your list.
All college coaches are guaranteed to receive the following for all Showcase PLUS student-athletes:

Data is a great way to give college recruiters insight into your on-field tools and a more complete view into the player that you’re developing into. When college coaches are recruiting, they’re assessing both the player you are right now and the player you can become as a member of their program during your college career – and data helps college coaches build this picture more fully. With the video and data collected at camp, Honor Roll gives college coaches an in-depth look at not just how you play in live games, but also your tools and potential projectability for their program.
The Showcase PLUS profile allows college coaches to see you with all the necessary video, and then also check their video “eye test” with the data and analytics to back up their impressions on your recruitability.
Right now, the only way to get exposure to many college programs is through verified video and data. The Showcase PLUS helps with that by giving student-athletes a one-stop collection of all the necessary video and data, while also functioning as a verified source so coaches know that the video and data can be trusted.
