George Washington hosts Georgetown, Stony Brook, and Oakland this weekend for the Buff & Blue Challenge. Here’s what to look out for with the three Honor Roll schools in action:
George Washington: The Colonials enter play with the best record in the A10. They’ve won 9 of their last 10 games and currently sit at 19-4 on the season.
Georgetown: The Hoyas split their two on Friday, picking up a victory over Stony Brook to kick off the Buff & Blue Challenge. Honor Roll alumni C Mae Forshey and P/3B Cassie Henning combined to go 3 for 6 with 2 RBIs, including a 7th inning single by Forshey that scored the winning run.
Stony Brook: The Seawolves picked up their first win of the season last Saturday with a resounding 11-1 win over Florida A&M. Stony Brook looks to pick up a few wins in the nation’s capital before hosting the Stony Brook Invitational next weekend.
Our prediction: The hosts come out of the weekend with the strongest record, as George Washington wins 4 of their 5 games.

Denison Location School Size Ranking Popular Majors Division / Conference |
Claremont was ranked #12 in the country in the most recent poll, starting the 2019 season with a 9-2 record and a two-game sweep of nationally ranked #14 Pomona-Pitzer. With 6 Honor Roll alumni on the team this year (38% of their roster), the Athenas’ pitching staff has been led by Honor Roll alumni RHP Lauren Richards, who leads the team in wins (6), complete games (4) and strikeouts (22), including a complete game shutout over Pomona-Pitzer. Claremont has also seen strong performances from Honor Roll alumni at the plate, with Honor Roll alumni 1B Ananya Koneti currently leading the team with a .389 AVG.
With four straight games postponed to start the season, Denison will kick off their schedule against Pomona-Pitzer before their doubleheader against Claremont on Tuesday. After falling in the NCAC championship game to fellow Honor Roll program DePauw, the Big Red were voted as the preseason favorite to win the NCAC. Denison currently has two Honor Roll alumni on the roster, including OF Gabi Dufresne, who batted .296 in 15 games as a freshman last year.
Our prediction: Claremont continues their impressive start to the season, winning both games against Denison.
